Leather. Ooooooh, leather. Why must you be so soft and sexy? Why must 95% of all fabulous bags and shoes be made of you? Your ability to be simultaneously gorgeous and gross drives this eco-chic gal insane.
And yet.

I cannot, I'm afraid, live without you.
Just when things were looking dire, Ashley Watson comes to the rescue of green girls everywhere with a plethora of deliciously distressed, downtown-boho bags all made of recycled leather. Not guilt-free, exactly, but certainly guilt-light. After all, each time you purchase one of these bags you save an innocent pair of 80s leather pants from a cruel, inhumane, landfill death.
I am deeply, irrevocably in love with all of the Ashley Watson bags in this post. And I'm not in the least ashamed about it.

Recycled leather--what a great idea. I am sure there a zillion fugly bags out there that could use a 2nd life. I certainly would not feel guilty about owning one of these.
Yes, who can resist leather? Goodness. I'm not sure how the truly eco-friendly/vegetarian/humanitarian sect does it. I'm a sucker for supple leather.
